My Migraine Tools, Tips and Tricks

After sharing my Migraine Journey, I've received numerous inquiries from fellow sufferers seeking tips and tricks I've employed. Below, I've compiled a list of what has worked and what hasn't. Some strategies I've discovered through personal research, while others have been suggested by doctors and fellow Migraine warriors. I strongly advise conducting your own research and consulting with a doctor before initiating any new regimen or adjusting medications.

Sending you big hugs on your migraine journey! May you find relief soon.💜

Other Tips and Tricks:

  • DOCUMENT! Document when you get your migraine, what symptoms you may have, possible triggers, when you go to the doctor, keep your blood work, paper work, etc. This not only helps you and your doctor, but is so helpful to have on hand in the event of Insurance denials. In the world of Chronic Migraine, insurance denials are tedious and inevitable. Save yourself the additional headache by staying prepared with your documentation. MigraineBuddy app or a literal journal, or work document is a great way to keep track of your experience. If you invest in the Cefaly, they have an app that tracks too. I prefer to keep a working document.

  • ADVOCATE for yourself! I have had doctors ignore my requests for blood or my symptoms. It can be so defeating. But, stay strong. If you can, find a new doctor. Do not stop fighting until you are heard.

  • FMLA - FMLA is absolutely necessary for job security when suffering from migraine. Not only can it help job security, but it can support you financially for days when you miss work due to migraine.

  • Drink lots of water! - Hydration is so important when your body suffers all the symptoms of migraine. Make it a priority by investing in a nice water bottle. I love my $20 32oz SimpleModern water bottle from amazon! It always keeps my water ice cold! https://a.co/d/gTc9a68

  • Community. Community support is so important for support to get you through the rough patches. I’m not sure where I would be with out my friend and family for support.

With Love & Hope,
